Is there an official Akeneo + HubSpot integration?

No. Akeneo has no app in the HubSpot App Marketplace as of September 2026, and a search for it returns nothing at all. The route that works is a custom API integration that reads Akeneo's REST API with its updated filter, adds Event Platform events on the SaaS editions that support them, and upserts HubSpot products keyed on the product UUID, at 40 to 60 build hours. On the Community Edition there are no events, so the schedule carries everything.

Why teams connect Akeneo to HubSpot

Akeneo is where a brand or distributor turns supplier spreadsheets into products ready for every channel. Families define the attributes, product models carry what variants share, and completeness scores say when a product is ready for a given channel and locale. Commerce sites and marketplaces read that data. The sales team, working from HubSpot all day, usually does not.

So the product library in HubSpot is a second catalogue somebody maintains by hand. It lags the enriched one, carries names marketing retired months ago, and misses new variants entirely. B2B sellers quote from it anyway, and customers compare the quote with the website. Marketing notices the drift first, because it approved the names, and sales notices it last, when a buyer asks why the quote and the product page disagree.

The fix is small once it is framed properly. Akeneo stays the only place product data is edited, HubSpot receives the fields a seller needs for the channel sales actually uses, and nothing flows back. Because Akeneo scores completeness per channel, the sync can send only products that are complete for the sales channel, which keeps half-finished items off quotes and gives the product team one more reason to finish them.

What syncs

Products become HubSpot products. Variant products carry their product model’s code as a property, so sellers can find every size of one design, and the model itself never becomes a HubSpot product because Akeneo never sells it on its own. An asset from the Asset Manager supplies each product’s image URL.

The key is the product UUID, held in a custom unique property. Akeneo recommends its UUID endpoint because a UUID never changes, even when an SKU is modified, and because some products have no traditional identifier at all. The SKU still travels, in hs_sku, because it is what sellers search for.

Prices come from Akeneo price attributes, which hold one amount per currency, and map onto the price fields HubSpot keeps for each currency the account uses. Values are read for one channel and locale agreed in discovery, because Akeneo stores values per channel and locale while HubSpot holds one value per property.

Objects that sync between Akeneo and HubSpot
Source object HubSpot object Direction Match key Notes
Product Product Into HubSpot Product UUID in a custom unique property, with the SKU value in hs_sku Akeneo guarantees the UUID never changes, even when the SKU does.
Product model Product Into HubSpot Product model code, written to a property on each variant product A model groups variants and is never sold on its own.
Asset (Asset Manager) Product Into HubSpot Asset code within its asset family, with an image URL on the product The image URL has to load for anyone who opens a quote.

Architecture

The dependable path is a polling watermark sync. A connection in Akeneo provides a client id and secret for an API user, and the service exchanges them for a token that lasts an hour, refreshing it as it goes. Each run reads the products endpoint with the updated filter after the stored watermark, in UTC on SaaS, using search-after paging at 100 products a page.

The service maps each product for the agreed channel and locale, upserts HubSpot products in batches keyed on the UUID, and moves the watermark only after the batch commits. A weekly run compares every UUID with HubSpot to catch the deletions the filter cannot see, and a replay endpoint re-reads any window on request.

On SaaS editions, an Event Platform subscription posts product events to an HTTPS endpoint that queues them and answers within five seconds. Delivery is at least once and unordered, so an event only tells the service which UUID to read next.

A sync service reads products updated after its watermark from Akeneo's REST API and upserts HubSpot products keyed on the product UUID. On SaaS editions, Event Platform events land on an endpoint that queues each UUID, and a weekly comparison catches deletions.

Three ways to connect

The deciding factor here is the edition more than the budget. On Akeneo’s SaaS editions the Event Platform supplies events, and the build pairs them with a scheduled read. On the Community Edition or the Enterprise Edition hosted as PaaS there are no events to subscribe to, so the scheduled read carries everything, which is simpler and still fresh enough for a product library.

An iPaaS suits a small catalogue that changes rarely. The ceiling it meets is concurrency: Akeneo allows four concurrent calls per connection and ten per instance, shared with every other connection, and a per-task tool reloading a large catalogue spends both time and money. A custom API integration controls both.

  • iPaaS

    Possible

An iPaaS can push a small catalogue on a schedule. Akeneo allows four concurrent calls per connection, so a full reload through a per-task tool is slow and billed for every product.

  • Marketplace app

    Avoid

A search of the HubSpot App Marketplace for Akeneo returns no apps at all, so there is nothing packaged to install.

What breaks and how we prevent it

Asset edits the updated filter misses

The updated filter reflects changes to the product, not to the assets it links, so a new image on an existing asset leaves the product’s date alone and never reaches HubSpot. On the SaaS Enterprise Edition we filter on updated_including_linked_entities, which needs its linked entities option switched on; elsewhere a weekly asset pass does the job.

Four concurrent calls per connection

Akeneo allows four concurrent calls per connection and ten per instance, and the instance budget is shared with every other connection. Continuous over-usage triggers 429 responses sooner than bursts do. We run a dedicated connection below the ceiling, honour Retry-After, and cache the catalogue structure instead of rereading it.

Repeated and unordered events

The Event Platform delivers at least once, so duplicates and out-of-order events are normal. An endpoint slower than five seconds gets retried, retries stop after three, and a success rate below 90 percent over an hour suspends the subscription. We acknowledge at once, queue by UUID, and keep the scheduled read as the backstop.

Variants resent by a parent change

When a product model changes, the updated filter returns all of its variants, even those whose own date is older. A colour name corrected on one model resends every variant under it. We hash the mapped fields and skip the HubSpot write when nothing a seller sees has changed.

Our approach

  1. Scope. We choose the families, attributes, channel and locale that sales needs, confirm the edition, and find out where images are hosted.
  2. Architect. We fix the UUID as the key, the watermark and page size, the currency mapping and the completeness rule for what reaches HubSpot.
  3. Build. The service is written against a sandbox or a Community Edition copy and a HubSpot sandbox, on a dedicated Akeneo connection.
  4. Validate. We load the catalogue, compare UUID counts with HubSpot, and check prices and images with the product owner.
  5. Operate. We watch 429s and event failures, run the weekly deletion pass, and re-check the mapping when a family changes.

Common questions

Is there an Akeneo app in the HubSpot App Marketplace?

No. A search of the marketplace for Akeneo returns no results at all, not even apps that mention it. Akeneo's own integration story runs through its REST API, its Apps and its Event Platform, so a connection to HubSpot is built on those. The build is small by integration standards, because product data moves in one direction.

Which Akeneo editions can send events to an integration?

Akeneo's Event Platform supports the Enterprise Edition on SaaS and the Growth Edition, and does not support the Enterprise Edition hosted as PaaS or the Community Edition. The older Events API is marked deprecated. On editions without events, a HubSpot sync reads on a schedule with the updated filter, which is also the part of every build here that keeps it correct.

How does an Akeneo sync find products that changed?

With the updated filter on the products endpoint, using greater-than, BETWEEN or SINCE LAST N DAYS. Dates are read in the server's time zone, which is UTC on Akeneo's SaaS. Akeneo recommends search-after paging for products, at up to 100 a page. A variant also comes back when its parent product model changed, even if the variant itself did not.

How do Akeneo prices reach HubSpot products?

An Akeneo price attribute holds a list of amounts, one per currency. HubSpot keeps a price field for each currency configured in the account, so each Akeneo currency maps to its HubSpot counterpart. A currency Akeneo holds that HubSpot does not is dropped deliberately and logged, never converted, because a converted price is a number nobody approved.

What happens in HubSpot when an Akeneo product is deleted?

A schedule that reads updated products cannot see a deletion, because a deleted product no longer answers. The Event Platform sends a product deleted event on the editions that support it. Everywhere else we compare the full list of UUIDs with HubSpot on a weekly run and remove products Akeneo no longer holds, so nobody can quote them.

Can we test an Akeneo integration without touching the live PIM?

Partly. Akeneo's developer portal creates a sandbox PIM for partners building apps, and the free Community Edition can run locally. Neither holds your catalogue. Akeneo's public pages do not say whether a customer subscription includes a non-production copy of the PIM, so we ask in scoping, and otherwise read production only while writing to a HubSpot sandbox.

How long does an Akeneo and HubSpot product sync take to build?

Plan on 6 to 12 hours of discovery and 40 to 60 hours of build for a one-way sync of products, product models and images. Discovery goes on which families and attributes are meant for sales, the channel and locale to read, the currencies HubSpot holds, and where images are hosted.

Trust and compliance

We design integrations to support the security and privacy rules your business works under, and we build them on independently audited platforms.

How we build

  • Sandbox first. We build and test in a sandbox before anything reaches production.
  • Fail-closed allowlists. An integration runs only against the HubSpot accounts it is approved for.
  • Least-privilege access. Each integration gets only the API scopes it needs.
  • Secrets in a vault. Keys and tokens live in a secrets vault, never in plain text.
  • Sensitive data scoped early. Discovery covers sensitive data, access controls and any BAA or data-processing needs.
  • A compliance package for regulated industries: audit logging, field-level encryption and sensitive-data handling.
